Bring on the “Number Cake” Birthday Card

My nephew turned 2 today, so I made him this card. I really like this number stamp from Bring on the Cake, and I especially like to emboss it before coloring in the numbers.

The card base is Riding Hood Red, layered with Nursery Suite DSP. I stamped the numbers onto whisper white and then heat embossed with Black Embossing Powder. I colored in the numbers with So Saffron Marker and the number 2 with Riding Hood Red Marker. Then, I used the Corner Rounder Punch on the top corners to make it look like a cake.

The “cake stand” is a strip of Tempting Turquoise punched with the Scallop Edge Border Punch. I used the cropadile to add holes to each scallop and then threaded White Taffeta Ribbon through the holes.

I used chocolate chip card stock behind the cake to frame it. White Gel Pen around the edges makes it pop and coordinates with the white details in the DSP. At the bottom, I added 3 old olive buttons from the Designer Buttons Brights Collection.

Modern Wedding Card {Poppy & Gray}

I made this for a friend who was attending a wedding last week. The card is a 6″ square, made from a 12″x6″ sheet of textured basic gray card stock, folded in half.

Across the front, I layered 2 strips of poppy parade DSP from the In Color Prints Pack (Hostess Level 1) on Whisper White and overlapped them.

The stamped image is from a retired set called Year After Year. I stamped it on Whisper White card stock using Basic Gray ink and shaded it just a bit with gray Copic Markers. Then, I used the 2 Way Glue Pen and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to add sparkle to the cake.

I layered that onto squares of Poppy Parade and Basic Gray card stock, paper piercing the corners.

The glitter letters & numbers are Making Memories glitter alphabet stickers.

Across the front and back, I tied White 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon into a bow to close the card.

Inside, I forgot to take a picture, but I used a sheet of Poppy Parade DSP (same as on the front) layered with Whisper White and stamped a sentiment.

Pie Tower Birthday Card {Every Little Bit}

This color combination is from the Color Coach: Poppy Parade, Baja Breeze, and So Saffron. The base is Poppy parade, layered with Poppy Parade DSP from the Level 1 Hostess Prints Pack. The patterns are different from anything we’ve ever had–I love them.

I stamped the pies from Every Little Bit on Whisper White with Chocolate Chip ink. Then, I colored them in with coordinating color Stampin Write Markers. I paper pierced around the edges with the paper piercer to tie everything together.

The stamped layer is matted on Baja Breeze, which I embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and the Big Shot. The ribbon is White 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon that I colored with So Saffron Marker. The Whisper White and Baja Breeze layers are each adhered with stampin dimensionals.

Inside, I used scraps of Poppy Parade DSP, Whisper White, and Baja Breeze. I stamped the sentiment from Birthday Bakery Hostess Level 1 set in Chocolate Chip ink. I punched it out with the Word Window Punch and layered it onto Poppy Parade punched with the Modern Label Punch.
