Bring on the “Number Cake” Birthday Card

My nephew turned 2 today, so I made him this card. I really like this number stamp from Bring on the Cake, and I especially like to emboss it before coloring in the numbers.

The card base is Riding Hood Red, layered with Nursery Suite DSP. I stamped the numbers onto whisper white and then heat embossed with Black Embossing Powder. I colored in the numbers with So Saffron Marker and the number 2 with Riding Hood Red Marker. Then, I used the Corner Rounder Punch on the top corners to make it look like a cake.

The “cake stand” is a strip of Tempting Turquoise punched with the Scallop Edge Border Punch. I used the cropadile to add holes to each scallop and then threaded White Taffeta Ribbon through the holes.

I used chocolate chip card stock behind the cake to frame it. White Gel Pen around the edges makes it pop and coordinates with the white details in the DSP. At the bottom, I added 3 old olive buttons from the Designer Buttons Brights Collection.

Happy Birthday to a Classic {Masculine Card}

Time for another masculine card. The guys I know like cars, so I knew I would get a lot of mileage out of this stamp set, To a Classic.

I stamped the Baja Breeze card base with the little speedometer from To a Classic in Baja Breeze and Basic Gray ink. The main image was stamped in Memento Gray ink, on Whisper White card stock. Then, I stamped the image again on scrap White card stock and colored the car with Copic Markers. I cut out the car and attached it to the main image with stampin dimensionals.

The white was matted on a piece of Basic Gray card stock. The gray patterned paper is from Urban Oasis DSP (retired). I attached the stamped layer to the base with stampin dimensionals. The white brads are 5/8″ Basic Brads.

With Deepest Sympathy Card {Thanks for Caring}

This card uses the Thanks for Caring stamp from the Occasions Mini Catalog. Unfortunately, I have needed to make a few sympathy cards lately.

The base is River Rock textured card stock. I placed a wide strip of Chocolate Chip card stock down the front, layered with a short piece of Elegant Soiree DSP. Above and below that piece, I used 2 Basic Pearls.

As for the sentiment, I colored it with SU Markers: Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, and River Rock. It was stamped on Whisper White card stock on which I paper pierced the corners only. With a sponge dauber, I sponged on some River Rock ink just to soften the white a little bit. That was matted onto Chocolate Chip textured card stock with stampin dimensionals.

Horizontally, I added a strip of Baja Breeze card stock, embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder and the Big Shot.
