Tall Tales Animal Cards

Lately, I’ve been on a Designer Series Paper kick. Is it just me or are the DSP’s better than ever? Here, I used Tall Tales DSP as my main image, stamping only a sentiment and adding some embellishments for a quick general occasion card.

The base is Barely Banana, cut to 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″. I layered the Tall Tales DSP with Chocolate Chip card stock to make it pop more. Across the front, I added a 1″ x 4″ strip of Chocolate Chip card stock and then wrapped 5/8″ Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon around the top layers.

The sentiment is from Whimsical Words (a Saleabration set) stamped in Chocolate Chip ink on Whisper White. I punched that out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch and layered it onto Old Olive that I punched out with the Scallop Circle Punch. The brad is a 1/4″ Chocolate Chip Epoxy Brad from the Occasions Mini. I adhered the Scallop Circle to the base with Stampin Dimensionals.

This is another version using the same ingredients as above, with a few changes. First, this card is A2 size, 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. The base is Close to Cocoa, layered with Tall Tales DSP and Chocolate Chip card stock.

Since the paper is so bright and busy, all I did was add a sentiment and embellishment to the front. I stamped “small wonder” from Whimsical Words in Chocolate Chip ink on Whisper White and then punched it out with the Large Oval Punch. I layered that onto a Rose Red Scallop Oval Punch and using the cropadile, added a Circle Rhinestone Brad in green to the “o” of wonder. That was then attached to the base with Stampin Dimensionals.

Simple Card {To A Perfect Pair}

That little pear is so cute I can hardly stand it! I love using the Shades of Spring DSP as a background for cards with minimal stamping. The pattern is so beautiful on its own that it’s a shame to cover it up.

For the card base, I used Going Gray, layered with Soft Suede card stock and Shades of Spring DSP in this Very Vanilla/Certainly Celery floral pattern.

The only stamping I did was the sentiment, from Picture This (Level 1 Hostess set from Occasions Mini). I stamped it on Very Vanilla card stock in Soft Suede ink and colored in the pear with Certainly Celery Marker. Then, I punched it out with the Large Oval Punch and layered it on Very Vanilla that I sponged with Certainly Celery and Mellow Moss ink, punched out with the Scallop Oval Punch.

Across the bottom of the card, I added some Soft Suede Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon and attached the sentiment to it with Stampin Dimensionals.

Scalloped Heart of Hearts Polka Dot Card

I had the idea in my head to somehow punch a hole in the Scalloped Heart of Hearts die cut and have ribbon pulled through into a bow or knot. I couldn’t quite get it to work how I envisioned, but this turned out cute anyway.

The base is Melon Mambo card stock, layered with a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Whisper White that I ran through the Big Shot with the Swiss Dots Embossing folder. You could easily use the new Perfect Polka Dots Embossing folder, but I don’t have that one (yet). After embossing the White, I adhered a piece of Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon around the front and wrapped the ends around the back. Then, I attached the White to the card base with SNAIL Adhesive.

The heart was made using the Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit with Melon Mambo card stock. The Kraft heart behind it is the heart “leftover” from the Movers & Shapers Die with the Magnetic Heart insert. I layered the two hearts together, then punched a hole in the center with the Cropadile (larger hole setting). I cut a piece of Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon (about 8″ long) and slipped both ends through the hole, pulling them both until there was about 1/2″ of folded ribbon left in the back. Next, I tied a bow and trimmed the ends. To keep the ribbon flat behind the heart, I used a Mini Glue Dot to stick the ribbon to the back of the Melon Mambo heart. Then, I used Stampin Dimensionals to adhere the heart to the card front.

As for the sentiment, I stamped “love you much” from Well Scripted in Melon Mambo ink on Whisper White. I punched it out with the Large Oval Punch and then layered it onto a Soft Suede Scallop Oval Punch out. I added white dots with my White Gel Pen and then attached it to the card base with Stampin Dimensionals.
