Luau Party Invitation {Island Oasis}

This is a possible contender for my daughter’s birthday invitations. The theme is going to be a Luau, and I already found cute child size grass skirts and some other decorations for the party. When I saw this Island Oasis DSP in the Summer Mini, I decided that would be the theme!

The invitation is A2 size, base is Crumb Cake (Kraft). I used the Island Oasis DSP in the green leaf pattern and rose red flower pattern to layer with Whisper White. I stamped the invitation stamp from Introducing in Early Espresso ink and wrote the details with Stampin Write Markers in Rose Red, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise, and Summer Sun. I used the Paper Piercer around the top layer and adhered it to the base with Stampin Dimensionals.

At the bottom, I took a strip of Early Espresso card stock and stamped “You’re Invited” in Versamark, and heat embossed it with White Embossing Powder. Then, I used the Paper Piercer again along the bottom edge.

The flower is from Fresh Cut Notes. I layered a piece of striped Island Oasis DSP behind it, then trimmed the flower with scissors. In the center, I added a 1/4″ Chocolate Chip Epoxy Brad and adhered it to the base with Stampin Dimensionals.

At the top, I added a short piece of Chocolate Chip 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon, folded in half, attaching it with a staple.

Tall Tales Animal Cards

Lately, I’ve been on a Designer Series Paper kick. Is it just me or are the DSP’s better than ever? Here, I used Tall Tales DSP as my main image, stamping only a sentiment and adding some embellishments for a quick general occasion card.

The base is Barely Banana, cut to 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″. I layered the Tall Tales DSP with Chocolate Chip card stock to make it pop more. Across the front, I added a 1″ x 4″ strip of Chocolate Chip card stock and then wrapped 5/8″ Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon around the top layers.

The sentiment is from Whimsical Words (a Saleabration set) stamped in Chocolate Chip ink on Whisper White. I punched that out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch and layered it onto Old Olive that I punched out with the Scallop Circle Punch. The brad is a 1/4″ Chocolate Chip Epoxy Brad from the Occasions Mini. I adhered the Scallop Circle to the base with Stampin Dimensionals.

This is another version using the same ingredients as above, with a few changes. First, this card is A2 size, 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. The base is Close to Cocoa, layered with Tall Tales DSP and Chocolate Chip card stock.

Since the paper is so bright and busy, all I did was add a sentiment and embellishment to the front. I stamped “small wonder” from Whimsical Words in Chocolate Chip ink on Whisper White and then punched it out with the Large Oval Punch. I layered that onto a Rose Red Scallop Oval Punch and using the cropadile, added a Circle Rhinestone Brad in green to the “o” of wonder. That was then attached to the base with Stampin Dimensionals.

Build A Bear Cards {Boy & Girl}

I made this card for a color challenge on Splitcoast. The colors were Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow, and Dusty Durango (plus a neutral like Whisper White or Very Vanilla). An additional option was to use patterned paper.

The card base is Dusty Durango textured card stock, layered with Autumn Vine DSP in a Sage Shadow pattern. On top of that is Chocolate Chip textured card stock. All the corners of this card were rounded using the Corner Chomper set to the 1/2″ setting.

I stamped the boy bear from Beary Best Friends in Chocolate Chip ink on Very Vanilla card stock and colored him in with Copic Markers. Again, I rounded the corners and layered it onto Dusty Durango card stock. Then, using the paper piercer, I pierced holes in the Very Vanilla card stock and attached it with Stampin Dimensionals.

The sentiment is from Picture This (Hostess Level 1 set from the Occasions Mini). I stamped it in Sage Shadow ink on Very Vanilla card stock and cut it out with the Word Window Punch. That was layered on a Dusty Durango Modern Label Punch, adhered with Stampin Dimensionals. On either side of the label, I added Chocolate Chip Epoxy Brads, also from the Occasions Mini.

Since I had the Beary Best Friends stamp out, I decided to make a girl Build A Bear version. The card base is Going Gray, layered with Rich Razzleberry textured card stock and a polka dot paper from Shades of Spring DSP. The dots are pale plum on Very Vanilla, very subtle.

I stamped the bear in Going Gray ink on Very Vanilla card stock, coloring her in with Copic Markers. That is layered onto Rich Razzleberry textured card stock. I added a border at the bottom using the Scallop Trim Border Punch.

To finish off the card, I stamped “from me to you” from So Many Sayings in Rich Razzleberry ink on Very Vanilla card stock. I cut that out with the Word Window Punch and layered it onto Rich Razzleberry Modern Label Punch.
