Elegant Place Cards–Shades of Spring

I made these place cards for my Aunt’s 50th Birthday party. I wanted them to be elegant and fun, but not too formal. Shades of Spring DSP made a perfect backdrop for the place cards, cut to 3 1/2″ x 2″. The Basic Black card stock was cut to just under 3 3/4″ x 4 1/2″. Then, I used the Scallop Trim Border Punch along the 3 3/4″ side and folded it in half as shown.

Next, I adhered the Shades of Spring DSP to the black card stock with SNAIL adhesive. The ribbon is Certainly Celery 5/8″ Satin Ribbon, which I tied around the inside of the place card and knotted in the front.

The names and table numbers were printed on the computer, punched out with the Large Oval Punch and layered on Basic Black card stock I punched out with the Scalloped Oval Punch. That was then attached to the front with a Stampin Dimensional.

Happiness Always Beautiful Wings Butterfly Card

Remember Cottage Wall DSP? I forgot how much I liked it until I pulled it out last night and made this card. I also used another favorite thing of mine–the Beautiful Wings Embosslit.

The card base is Rich Razzleberry Textured card stock, cut to 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″, folded in half for a 4 1/4″ square card. I layered Cottage Wall DSP on Whisper White card stock and wrapped a piece of Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon around the front.

Next, I used the Beautiful Wings Embosslit and the Big Shot to die cut these cute little butterflies in Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White card stock. I layered them with Mini Glue Dots and attached them to the card. This pattern of DSP actually matches the smallest butterfly from the Sizzlet perfectly!

To finish off the card, I stamped the sentiment from Whimsical Words (Sale-a-Bration set free with $50 purchase) in Old Olive ink on Whisper White card stock. Then, I punched that out with the Large Oval Punch and layered it onto Rich Razzleberry punched out with the Scalloped Oval Punch. That’s attached to the card base with Stampin Dimensionals.

Good Neighbors Movers & Shapers Heart Card

The Movers & Shapers Die for the Big Shot makes awesome window cards, and in the case of a corresponding punch, the window is a little larger to allow for layering and allowing the punched image to pop out.

Here, I didn’t use the Full Heart Punch (but that would coordinate with this). Instead I used the Magnetic Movers and Shapers Heart and Kraft card stock to make the card base. Then, I stamped “congratulations” from Well Scripted in Chocolate chip Craft ink and heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.

Inside, I layered Very Vanilla card stock and stamped the houses from Good Neighbors. Then, I stamped them again onto a scrap of Very Vanilla and trimmed out the pieces with my scissors. I attached the cut out pieces on top of the stamped images using Stampin Dimensionals. Above the houses, I stamped clouds from the same set in Soft Sky ink.

Outside, I tied 5/8″ Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon. I think it makes a nice card for someone buying their first house!
