Watercolor Flowers Card {Delight in Life}

This is one of my all time favorite flower images, from Delight in Life. I experimented with watercoloring and Copic coloring on Watercolor Paper, then layered the flowers for a pop up effect. The colors are a little bright: orangey-red and purple with a splash of green, but I think I like it overall.

I kept the base neutral, using barely banana layered with whisper white and Kraft colored paper from Welcome Neighbor DSP. The flowers are attached with Stampin Dimensionals, and I added some Crystal Effects in the center to highlight. The leaves are Sweet Pea Stitched Felt, adhered with glue dots.

At the bottom, I stamped the sentiment on Watercolor Paper in Basic Gray ink. I colored in the flower with Rose Red Marker and blended with an Aquapainter, then added Crystal Effects on top for highlight. The corners of the Watercolor Paper were punched with the Ticket Corner Punch, as were the corners of the Rose Red layer underneath. Using a Pumpkin Pie marker, I colored around the edges of the Watercolor Paper and then blended toward the center with the Aquapainter to tie in the orange tones of the flower.

On either side of the sentiment, I used a small rectangle punch to make slits for the Old Olive 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon. The ribbon was wrapped around the card front and the card stock was held in place with Stampin Dimensionals.

Scalloped Square Hearts Card

This card uses the Scallop Square Die for the Big Shot, on a Whisper White base. The base is 5 1/4″ x 10 1/2″ folded in half. The Scallop Square is Chocolate chip card stock, layered with whisper white and Sweet Always DSP (my all time favorite DSP).

The hearts are from I {Heart} Hearts stamped in Chocolate chip ink and Creamy Caramel ink. The lightest version is done with Creamy Caramel by stamping again on the paper without reinking the stamp. (Otherwise known as Second Generation Stamping or Stamping Off).

I cut out all the hearts and arranged them on the card front, attaching them with Stampin Dimensionals. In the center, I used a Sweet Pea Stitched Felt circle, attached with a glue dot.
