Dasher Christmas Cards

This Dasher reindeer is my new favorite image. I ordered the Decor Element as part of my hostess benefits and I plan on putting it in a frame as shown in the catalog. As soon as I do that, I’ll be sure to post pictures! For now, these cards will have to do.

The above card uses chocolate chip card stock for the base, layered with Chocolate Chip DSP in a striped pattern. I stamped Dasher in Real Red in on whisper white and punched it out using a large circle punch. Behind that, I layered real red card stock punched with the giga scallop punch.

I traced the reindeer’s antlers with my fine tip glue pen and sprinkled on Dazzling Diamonds. Then, I stamped “make merry” from Berry Christmas in real red ink on whisper white. I punched it out using the Word Window Punch, layered with chocolate chip Modern Label Punch.

Lastly, I tied some Real Red polka dot grosgrain around the front, with the knot over on the left side.

The second card uses the same base card stock and DSP. This time, I stamped Dasher in Versamark and heat embossed it using Gold Embossing Powder. Then, using Nestabilities, I cut/embossed the white circle around the stamped image. That was layered on kiwi kiss card stock cut with a larger Nestabilities circle die and the edges sponged with Kiwi Kiss ink.

At the top of the card, I tied some Old Olive 1 1/4″ Striped Ribbon in a knot and attached it to the base with a glue dot. I also put small glue dots behind each “tail” of the bow to keep it lying flat.

55th Wedding Anniversary Invites

My grandparents are celebrating their 55th wedding anniversary soon and guess who’s in charge of making the invitations??  That’s right, me!

I don’t know why we didn’t have a 50th anniversary party for them?  Maybe it was because my grandfather was ill at that time. I don’t remember, but in any event, their 55th is coming and they want to celebrate.

Option 1:

This is so sparkly in real life, I tried my best to get it on camera. The base is rich razzleberry card stock, layered with a very vanilla panel. On top, I ran a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of vellum through the Big Shot using the Manhattan Flowers Embossing Folder. Then, with the debossed side up (raised side down), I filled in the image with my fine tip glue pen and added Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. I love this result! (See here for another example).

To finish it off, I stamped “You’re Invited” from Sincere Salutations in Rich Razzleberry ink on the vellum and tied some polka dot rich razzleberry ribbon in a knot and adhered it to the top of the card using a glue dot.

Option 2:

So simple but so elegant. The card base is close to cocoa, layered with an ivory shimmer paper which I embossed using the Manhattan Flowers Embossing Folder and the Big Shot. In the upper right corner, I stamped “You’re Invited” from For the Bride in Versamark and embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder. The ribbon was purchased from a craft store, and it’s a shimmery version of close to cocoa.

Option 3:

This version is well suited for a 50th Anniversary card. The base is close to cocoa again, layered with very vanilla which I stamped with En Francais in close to cocoa ink. A vellum overlay was stamped with the cake from For the Bride in Versamark and embossed with Gold Embossing Powder.

The ribbon was purchased from a craft store and the “You’re Invited” from For the Bride was stamped on very vanilla card stock in Versamark and embossed with Gold Embossing Powder as well. I punched out the sentiment using the Modern Label Punch and adhered it using dimensionals.

This is beautiful, but not really my grandparents’ style. The base is chocolate chip textured card stock, layered with whisper white. On top, the vellum layer was embossed using the Manhattan Flowers Embossing Folder and then with the debossed side up (raised side down) I brayered over the vellum using Baja breeze ink.

At the top, I added ribbon from Valet Ribbon Originals (retired). The sentiment is from Please Come stamped in Baja Breeze on whisper white. I punched it out with the Word Window Punch and mounted it on chocolate chip card stock punched out with the Modern Label Punch.

It’s Time to be Thankful

It’s totally by coincidence that I made this card last week using Autumn Vines DSP and SU just announced an Inventory Blowout Sale that included this DSP! I think this has been one of the best DSPs of all time, especially since it coordinates with another one of my all time faves–Season of Friendship stamp set.

Card base is Chocolate Chip, layered with the beautiful Autumn Vines DSP. Then, I used another sheet of DSP (really rust polka dot) and ran it through the Top Note die. Around the bottom of the Top Note I tied a piece of 5/8″ Very Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon and attached it to the base using dimensionals.

The stamped image, from Season of Friendship was inked up with More Mustard for the tree and Sage Shadow for the leaves. I stamped it on Very Vanilla card stock and cut it out using a Mega Circle Punch. Then, I layered that circle onto a larger chocolate chip Giga Scalloped Circle Punch, attaching it to the base with dimensionals.

Finally, the sentiment is from Very Thankful, and I used my Sage Shadow Marker to just ink up the words, stamped it on Very Vanilla card stock, punched it out with the Word Window Punch and layered it on a chocolate chip Modern Label.
