Birthday Flowers & Dots

I made this card for my husband’s grandmother. He suggested mailing her a card but I told him that was impossible because this one was BIG and bulky!

The card base is chocolate chip, layered with Chocolate Chip DSP in this polka dot pattern. As for the flowers, I made them by punching different colored card stock  with the Scallop Circle Punch. Then, I sprayed the scallop circles with water, crumpled them up, and let them dry. I added a white Basic Brad in the center of each flower, topped with a Rhinestone Jewel.

In the background, I used Apricot Appeal card stock, layered with Whisper White that I ran through the Big Shot with the Elegant Lines Embossing Folder. Using the sponge dauber, I added Certainly Celery ink to the raised portions.

The sentiment is from Bring on the Cake. I stamped it in Chocolate Chip ink on Pretty in Pink card stock, then punched it out with the Decorative Label Punch. To give it more interest, I sponged the edges with Pretty in Pink ink and added white dots with the White Gel Pen.

Merry Crittermas Cute Christmas Card

I don’t know what I like best about this little guy, but he is just too cute! I think it’s his little teeth that get me. This is a simple enough holiday card to make in bulk, with enough interest to keep me from getting bored. Each element can be prepped in advance and I can assemble them quickly if I plan ahead.

The card base is Cherry Cobbler, layered with Jolly Holiday DSP. I cut Old Olive card stock with the Top Note Die in the Big Shot, and wrapped some 1 1/4″ Riding Hood Red Striped Grosgrain Ribbon (from the clearance rack) around the front.

Next, I stamped the sentiment from Bright Christmas (Holiday Mini) in Cherry Cobbler ink on Very Vanilla card stock, punched out with the Decorative Label Punch. I sponged some Old Olive Craft ink around the edges, sprinkled on some Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, and heated it to give a glittery effect without the glitter.

For the main image, I stamped this adorable little beaver from Merry Crittermas onto Watercolor Paper with Black Stazon ink and colored it in using SU Markers and the Aquapainter.I use this technique for easy watercoloring.

To make his teeth extra white, I used the Signo White Gel Pen. Then, I trimmed the image out and attached it with stampin’ dimensionals to a Very Vanilla 1 3/4″ Circle that I embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and Big Shot. That is layered onto a Cherry Cobbler 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle, dotted with the Signo White Gel Pen and Paper Piercer.

Naughty and Nice Christmas Card

I really like the Tags Til Christmas set, and adding the tags to a card is another great idea for them. Here, I stamped the tree from Season of Joy on Whisper White after coloring the stamp with Always Artichoke, Daffodil Delight, and Chocolate Chip Markers. With a fine tip glue pen and Dazzling Diamonds, I added some glitter to the swirls on the tree. That layer was then matted onto Chocolate Chip card stock and paper pierced around the edges with the paper piercer.

The card base is Real Red, layered with Whisper White and retired Holiday Lounge DSP.

As I mentioned before, the sentiment is from Tags Til Christmas. I colored in the stamp with Chocolate Chip, Cherry Cobbler, and Always Artichoke Markers, stamping it twice. I punched one of them with the Curly Label Punch, and cut out the colored words from the other, attaching them to the Curly Label piece with stampin dimensionals.

Then, I just layered the Curly Label Punch onto a Chocolate Chip Modern Label Punch and Real Red Decorative Label Punch. Two green Circle Ice Rhinestone Brads finish off the tag.

Behind the tag, I added a piece of Chocolate Chip 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon, notching the ends with my Craft & Paper Scissors (aka My Ribbon Scissors).
