Scalloped Square Hearts Card

This card uses the Scallop Square Die for the Big Shot, on a Whisper White base. The base is 5 1/4″ x 10 1/2″ folded in half. The Scallop Square is Chocolate chip card stock, layered with whisper white and Sweet Always DSP (my all time favorite DSP).

The hearts are from I {Heart} Hearts stamped in Chocolate chip ink and Creamy Caramel ink. The lightest version is done with Creamy Caramel by stamping again on the paper without reinking the stamp. (Otherwise known as Second Generation Stamping or Stamping Off).

I cut out all the hearts and arranged them on the card front, attaching them with Stampin Dimensionals. In the center, I used a Sweet Pea Stitched Felt circle, attached with a glue dot.

Scalloped Heart of Hearts Polka Dot Card

I had the idea in my head to somehow punch a hole in the Scalloped Heart of Hearts die cut and have ribbon pulled through into a bow or knot. I couldn’t quite get it to work how I envisioned, but this turned out cute anyway.

The base is Melon Mambo card stock, layered with a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Whisper White that I ran through the Big Shot with the Swiss Dots Embossing folder. You could easily use the new Perfect Polka Dots Embossing folder, but I don’t have that one (yet). After embossing the White, I adhered a piece of Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon around the front and wrapped the ends around the back. Then, I attached the White to the card base with SNAIL Adhesive.

The heart was made using the Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit with Melon Mambo card stock. The Kraft heart behind it is the heart “leftover” from the Movers & Shapers Die with the Magnetic Heart insert. I layered the two hearts together, then punched a hole in the center with the Cropadile (larger hole setting). I cut a piece of Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon (about 8″ long) and slipped both ends through the hole, pulling them both until there was about 1/2″ of folded ribbon left in the back. Next, I tied a bow and trimmed the ends. To keep the ribbon flat behind the heart, I used a Mini Glue Dot to stick the ribbon to the back of the Melon Mambo heart. Then, I used Stampin Dimensionals to adhere the heart to the card front.

As for the sentiment, I stamped “love you much” from Well Scripted in Melon Mambo ink on Whisper White. I punched it out with the Large Oval Punch and then layered it onto a Soft Suede Scallop Oval Punch out. I added white dots with my White Gel Pen and then attached it to the card base with Stampin Dimensionals.

Elegant Place Cards–Shades of Spring

I made these place cards for my Aunt’s 50th Birthday party. I wanted them to be elegant and fun, but not too formal. Shades of Spring DSP made a perfect backdrop for the place cards, cut to 3 1/2″ x 2″. The Basic Black card stock was cut to just under 3 3/4″ x 4 1/2″. Then, I used the Scallop Trim Border Punch along the 3 3/4″ side and folded it in half as shown.

Next, I adhered the Shades of Spring DSP to the black card stock with SNAIL adhesive. The ribbon is Certainly Celery 5/8″ Satin Ribbon, which I tied around the inside of the place card and knotted in the front.

The names and table numbers were printed on the computer, punched out with the Large Oval Punch and layered on Basic Black card stock I punched out with the Scalloped Oval Punch. That was then attached to the front with a Stampin Dimensional.
