Yummy Ice Creamy Card {Sweet Scoops}

I made this card as part of an ice cream gift basket–with cones, sprinkles, hot fudge, etc. The colors were inspired by the basket I used.

The card base is Gina K Luxury White Base Weight card stock, layered with polka dot DSP from Island Oasis. I stamped the cone from Sweet Scoops in Creamy Caramel ink on Whisper white. Then, I stamped the ice cream in Pretty in Pink ink onto a scrap of Whisper White and cut it out. I attached it to the base with a Stampin Dimensional.

The Whisper White is layered with Old Olive. I paper pierced the White and then adhered it to the Old Olive with Stampin Dimensionals. Behind the Old Olive, I added a strip of Rose Red card stock that I punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch.

Lastly, the sentiment is from an old SAB set called Yummy. I stamped it on Whisper White and punched it out with the Large Oval Punch. Then, I took Rose Red card stock and punched it with the Scallop Oval Punch, layering the two pieces. That was adhered to the base with Stampin Dimensionals.

Father’s Day Motorcycle Cards

I FINALLY made a “manly” card! This is really hard for me because by definition, cards are not very manly. Men just don’t care about receiving cards; they probably throw them out 5 minutes after reading them. Not that my husband does that. Nevermind that he can’t because I take them back 5 minutes after he reads them and I save them!

With Father’s Day coming up, masculine cards are the project of the day. This motorcycle stamp, aptly called Motorcycle, from the Stampin Up Summer Mini catalog is perfect for Father’s Day. Most dads love motorcycles, whether they have one or wish they had one.

The card above uses Crumb Cake base, layered with new Cherry Cobbler. The Gray DSP is from Urban Oasis (one of the best collections EVER in my opinion). I stamped the motorcycle in Memento Black ink and colored it in with Copic Markers. The sentiment is from Well Scripted, stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink on Whisper White. I punched it out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch and layered it onto a Metal Edge Tag. Then, I added 3 small Silver Brads and using Stampin Dimensionals, layered the tag onto a 1 3/4″ Circle Punch of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock.

This version uses a different color scheme and different sentiment stamp. The base here is Marina Mist, layered with Crumb Cake and the Urban Oasis DSP. Again, I stamped the image in Memento Black and colored in with Copic Markers. The image was layered onto Marina Mist and attached to the base with Stampin Dimensionals. For the sentiment, I used And Many Mower, stamped in Basic Gray ink on Whisper White. I punched it out with the Large Oval Punch and layered it onto a Scallop Oval punched from Marina Mist.

Flower Fancy {Distressed Look}

This style is not my strong suit, but there is so much of the vintage/distressed look going on lately that I figured now is probably the best time to try it.

I had my eye on this Fancy Flowers stamp set for a while, and when it went on sale last month, I had a chance to buy it for 20% off!

While I originally was drawn to the large flower image, I decided to try the flower and stem image first. I stamped it a few times on Gina K Luxury White card stock in Memento Black ink and colored it in with Copic Markers.

Next, I cut along the top of the flowers, just following along the image, with my scissors. Since this is a “distressed style” card, I used the Distressing Tool along all the card stock edges, going back over the distressed edges with Old Olive ink and a Sponge Dauber. Then, I sponged some Creamy Caramel ink all over the White card stock using a sponge that happened to have some old Chocolate Chip Reinker/Champagne Shimmer Paint on it. The darker brown spots were just a happy accident as a result. Finally, I spritzed some Frost Shimmer Mist (Frost Shimmer Paint mixed with 70% Rubbing Alcohol) all over the card stock.

Behind that, I randomly stamped the small flower and leaves in Old Olive ink (stamping off first) on Old Olive card stock. That was also distressed using the same method described above, minus the creamy caramel. I also sprayed it with Frost Shimmer Mist. In the upper corner, I added 2 Circle Rhinestone Brads in purple, and the sentiment is from Well Scripted, stamped in Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive Marker on Whisper white that I “distressed” with sponges and Shimmer Mist. Then, I punched out the “Happy Birthday” with the Large Oval Punch and layered it onto Rich Razzleberry textured card stock, punched with the Scallop Oval Punch. I adhered it to the base with Stampin dimensionals.

The striped paper is from Cottage Wall DSP, which I layered over the Old Olive card base. At the bottom of the card, I added a little Rich Razzleberry Grosgrain Ribbon. The “pleated” look was easy to do, simply by putting Sticky Strip along the length of the ribbon and then folding it into pleats.
