Holiday Card {Berry Christmas Bird}

It’s not even Thanksgiving yet and I’ve made more Christmas cards than I care to count! I’m so ready to move onto something new. In about a week, I can preorder new stuff from the Occasions Mini Catalog and I’m excited!

This card was made using Soft Suede as the base, layered with a soft suede striped DSP from Christmas Cocoa. I stamped the leaf from Berry Christmas in Old Olive ink, and added 3 Circle Rhinestone Brads for holly berries. The bird is also from Berry Christmas and I stamped it in Real Red ink, trimming it out with my scissors and adhering it to the base with a dimensional. Underneath the leaf, I used my Paper Piercer to make a row of dots.

As for the sentiment, from Heard from the Heart, I colored in the words with Old Olive marker and “Christmas” with Real Red marker. The Whisper White layer was then attached to Real Red textured card stock with dimensionals.

Bird on a Snowy Branch Holiday Card

This would make a nice holiday card; the wintry scene is just so peaceful. I love Branch Out for fall/autumn applications but I wanted to try my hand at using it in a different way.

The card base is 4 1/4″ x 11″ baja breeze, layered with a 4″ x 5 1/4″ Night of Navy panel. On the front, I stamped a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of baja breeze card stock with the tree from Branch Out in Basic Gray ink. Then, using the “leaves” stamp from the set, and White Craft Ink, I added snow all over the tree and surrounding areas. The bird was stamped in real red ink. To give the snow some more sparkle, I sprinkled Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder on the wet craft ink and heat embossed it.

Along the bottom, I tore a strip of Whisper White card stock to create a snowy ground cover. Although not visible in the photo, I used my Glue Pad to add a thin layer of White Flock to the strip of Whisper White to give a fluffy snow effect.

Finally, I tied some Real Red 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon around the bottom and adhered the Night of Navy and Baja Breeze layers to the card base.

Copic Colored Snow Buddies Christmas Card

I recently jumped on the Copic Marker bandwagon–they make me look like a much better artist than I am! I’m still learning how to use them, and they truly are amazing. Just like watercoloring with Stampin Up Markers, they allow you to blend and shade your images.

This card was made using the ever famous Snow Buddies stamp set. I stamped them in Memento black ink (you have to use that ink with Copics) and colored them in with the copic markers.

The image is mounted on a piece of Real Red textured card stock. In the upper corner, I used the Word Window Punch and punched real red card stock, adhered them to the image layer, and added Circle Rhinestone Brads with the cropadile.

As for the card base, I used Old olive card stock cut to 4  1/4″ x 11″ with a top fold at 5 1/2″. I also added a layer of Holiday Bulk Buy DSP in a baja breeze snowflake pattern to pick up the blues in the snowmen image.
