Crimped Slide Out Pocket Card Save the Date

SaveTheDate 001 copy

This is a fun Save the Date idea for a fall wedding. The crimped kraft card stock reminds me of the coffee sleeves you get at Starbucks!

Using the same technique for my slide out pocket gift card, I modified the design buy making the outer pocket shorter (4 1/2″ x 11″) scored at 6 3/4″ and 2 1/2″. After scoring, I ran the kraft card stock through the crimper, then adhered it with sticky strip. (See my video tutorial for more specific information.)

The window was made using the Modern Label Punch. Then, using the Leaves Awash Jumbo Wheel and chocolate chip ink, I rolled the leaves across the front of the card.

For a monogrammed look, I stamped the “M” from Lovely Letters alphabet in chocolate chip craft ink on very vanilla card stock and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then, I punched out the image with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch and layered it with dusty durango punched with the Scallop Circle Punch. That is attached to the pocket card with a dimensional.

For the insert, I took a piece of dusty durango and cut it to 4″ x 4 1/4″. That is layered with very vanilla trimmed to 3 3/4″ x 4″. I stamped “save the date” from Introducing in chocolate chip craft ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. At the top of the insert, I added a 3/4″ chocolate chip circle and then used my cropadile to set a jumbo eyelet. Some hemp twine knotted through the eyelet makes a nice pull.

Fall Wedding Save the Date Card

My brother in law and his fiancee are getting married next year in October and I thought I might make a few samples of save the date cards and possible wedding invitations to give them ideas.

This is just a card front, more mustard base layered with chocolate chip textured card stock and very vanilla, which I stamped using the Jumbo Wheel Leaves Awash in Chocolate chip ink. Then, I colored in the leaves using my Earth Elements Watercolor Crayons and Aquapainter just to blend a bit.

On top, I stamped a piece of vellum with the “Save the Date” stamp from Please Come in chocolate chip craft ink and heat embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder. Along the top and bottom border, I paper pierced the vellum and adhered it to the base with mini glue dots.

To finish the card, I tied some Hemp Twine around the top and added a Scallop Oval in Dusty Durango layered with a Very Vanilla Large Oval. I stamped “save the date” in dusty durango ink and sponged some creamy caramel ink over top.

Jumping in a Leaf Pile Fall Scrapbook Pages

My husband took these pictures of Ella playing in the leaves last week and I had this leaf pile idea in mind ever since.

The base for both pages is 12×12 Naturals Ivory card stock. I matted the photos onto more mustard, dusty durango, and close to cocoa card stock.

The leaves are from Fall Flair (a retired hostess set), stamped in pumpkin pie, dusty durango, so saffron, creamy caramel, and close to cocoa ink.

I stamped the title in the same color inks mentioned above. The alphabet stamp I used here is called Pure and Simple lowercase (retired). I stamped the letters onto whisper white and layered it onto close to cocoa card stock. The title pieces are attached with dimensionals. I tied some Hemp Twine around some of the title pieces.

The cork letters are from my local craft store. I colored chipboard numbers with sponge daubers and creamy caramel, so saffron, and pumpkin pie ink to resemble the cork.
