It’s a Girl Onesie Card {Baby Gift Card Holder}

Here is a cute card idea for a baby shower or baby gift. My friend Cindy had a baby girl a few months ago and this was the card I gave her. I found some tutorials available online, but in the end, I just eyeballed it and made my own version of the Baby Onesie card.

I started with a standard size card–Blushing Bride textured card stock cut to 4 1/4″ x 11″ folded in half. Then, I used the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch for the neck and leg openings. Using scissors, I cut a line from the leg opening to about 3/4 of the way up the card, then notched out the area under the sleeve. I kept the card folded when I punched the holes and cut the lines to ensure it was the same on the front and back.

Around the leg and neck openings I added some Chocolate Chip trim with the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. An easy way to do this is to punch a 2 1/2″ Circle out of the card stock first. You will actually not need the circle for this. Then, take the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch and line it up around the open circle on the sheet of card stock. Use this scalloped ring around the neck opening and cut another one for the legs.

Along the sleeves, I used the Scallop Edge Border Punch and Chocolate Chip card stock. Some Basic Pearls were added around the neck just to make it extra girly. Basic Pearls also were used for the buttons at the bottom.

The sentiment is from Best Yet, a retired hostess set. I stamped it on Very Vanilla and punched it out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch, layered with the Scallop Circle Punch. The ribbon around the waist is Chocolate Chip Scallop Dot Ribbon.

Inside, I lined the card with a cute bunny patterned paper from retired Nursery Suite DSP. To hold a gift card, I used the Slit Punch on the inside to create a little half circle to slide in and hold a gift card. The ribbon helps hold the gift card as well.

Gift Idea {Movie Theater Ticket/Gift Card Holder}

I made these Popcorn theme Movie Ticket Gift Holders for my sister. I’ve made a similar version which you can see here. This time, I made them slightly different, so I’ll provide the specific directions again.

Popcorn Basket Card

You will need:

  • 12×12 Real Red card stock
  • Whisper White card stock
  • Basic Black card stock
  • Daffodil Delight card stock
  • Alphabet stamp set , Real Red and Daffodil Delight ink
  • Very Vanilla Craft ink
  • Sweet Scoops stamp set (retired Summer Mini set)
  • White Liquid Applique
  1. Cut Real Red card stock to 5″ x 12″ and score along the long edge at 4″ and 8 1/4″.
  2. Apply Sticky Strip along the bottom of the center panel and fold the right side over the center panel. Then, put Sticky Strip on the left panel, along the bottom and the left edge. Fold over and stick.
  3. Cut 5 strips of Whisper White card stock to 1/2″ x 5″ and adhere them to the front of the card, evenly spaced.
  4. For the insert, cut a piece of black card stock to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and use the Scallop Edge Border Punch along the top. Cut Whisper White card stock to 3 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ and stamp with a sentiment of your choice.
  5. Adhere the White card stock to the Black card stock (around the edges only) and using the Slit Punch, punch approximately 1″ from the bottom. This slit will hold the movie tickets or gift card.
  6. The “popcorn” was stamped using the Tidy Alphabet stamp (retired) and alternating ink color. I layered it on black card stock and attached it to the base with stampin dimensionals.
  7. The popcorn kernel was made using the ice cream stamp from Sweet Scoops, stamped with Very Vanilla craft ink, then cut out with paper snips. Next, I applied Liquid Applique, heating it until it puffs.

Happy Birthday! Coffee Cup Slider Card Tutorial

I was inspired by this card from the very talented Ilina Crouse and just had to try making my own version. This is a slider card, which I’ve made before, except in the shape of a coffee cup. Even though the shape is different, the same principal applies. I’ll list the supplies first, then go into directions below.

Supplies Card Stock: Whisper White, Early Espresso, and Crumb Cake; Ink: Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler Marker, Copic Marker BG00 for shading; Stamps:Afterthoughts, Tiny Tags; Accessories: Designer Buttons (Neutrals), Crimper, Curly Label Punch, Stampin Dimensionals, White string, Sticky Strip, Tag Punch, glue dots.

Creating the Coffee Cup Slider Card:

Step 1:

Cut Whisper White card stock to 8 1/2″ x 7″. Fold each side  in on a slight angle as shown to create the cup. Make sure the distance between the folds at the bottom is 3 1/8″ (see photo below). Glue the flaps along the bottom of the cup closed with Sticky Strip, keeping the seal as close to the bottom as possible. Put more sticky strip along the edges of the back flap of the coffee cup and adhere it down. Do NOT seal the inside of the cup closed–you are creating a pocket.

Step 2:

Place the sealed cup onto a paper cutter and line up the bottom of the cup at 4 3/4″, cutting straight across to remove the excess at the top/mouth of the cup.

Step 3:

To make the slide out insert, cut a piece of Early Espresso card stock 4 1/2″ x 3″; and Whisper White card stock 4 1/2″ x 2 3/4″. Layer the Whisper White card stock onto the Early Espresso and adhere with SNAIL.

Step 4:

The lid is made using a 1″ x 4″ strip of Whisper White card stock. Using one corner of the Tag Punch, punch both ends of the strip to create the lid shape (see photos below).

Step 5:

For the lip around the lid, cut Whisper White card stock 4″ x 3/4″. Adhere it to the lower portion of the lid piece and trim the sides if necessary.

To attach the lid to the insert, take 1 piece of Sticky Strip about 2 3/4″ long and place it along the top edge of the insert. Attach the lid by lining up the top edge of the lip with the top edge of the insert (see photo below). This will leave the bottom part of the lid free, allowing it to hang over the front of the cup.

Step 6:

For the sleeve, cut Crumb Cake card stock to  7 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ and run it through the Crimper. Fold it around the coffee cup, adhering the back flap with Sticky Strip. A few small glue dots on the back keep it secure to the cup.

Step 7:

Stamp “Happy Birthday” from Afterthoughts on Whisper White card stock, inking up just part of the stamp with Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso Markers. Punch it out with the Curly Label Punch. Layer onto Early Espresso or Chocolate Chip card stock punched with Curly Label Punch, rotating the brown piece 90 degrees.

Step 8:

Wrap some white string around the sleeve and attach the sentiment with stampin dimensionals. Add a designer button to the lid using white string and a glue dot. I added the “hand crafted” stamp from Tiny Tags in the lower corner of the cup using the Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler Markers. Optional: Trace around the edges of the lid, lip, and cup with Copic BG00 for some shading.
