Ornate Blossom Cards {Shades of Blue}

I started out with inspiration from this card. Although this pattern from Greenhouse Gala DSP matches the Ornate Blossom stamp set, I could not figure out a way to use them together. It was overkill whenever I tried. By sticking with a small section of the paper however, it balances out and doesn’t make the pattern seem too bold.

Card base is Marina Mist, with a strip of Greenhouse Gala DSP paper pierced. I stamped the Ornate Blossom stamp in Marina Mist ink and the “just for you” in chocolate chip ink, from the Level 1 Hostess set Afterthoughts.

At the top, I used the corner rounder and tied some 1/4″ Chocolate chip twill ribbon (retired) around.

To add some more color, I attached three flower buttons with mini glue dots.

Along the same lines, I made this card using Ornate Blossom and Curly Cute stamp sets. The base is Marina Mist, with a strip of Greenhouse Gala DSP layered with chocolate chip card stock along the bottom.

I stamped the Ornate Blossom with chocolate chip ink on whisper white card stock and paper pierced all around with the paper piercer. Then, I layered it onto pear pizzaz card stock with stampin dimensionals.

The “thinking of you” is from Curly Cute, stamped in chocolate chip ink on whisper white. I added a pierced line below the words to coordinate with the main image.

For this last card, I stamped the Ornate Blossom stamp in Versamark on whisper white card stock and heat embossed it with White Embossing Powder. Then, I used the Brayer to add Pacific Point, Marina Mist, and Baja Breeze ink over the embossed image, darkest to lightest. Wipe the ink off the embossed image with a tissue.

Next, I stamped “for you” from Great Friends in Versamark and again, heat embossed it with White Embossing Powder. I paper pierced on either side of it with the paper piercer.

The main image was then matted onto whisper white card stock that I punched with the Scallop Edge Border Punch and paper pierced each scallop.

The card base is Baja Breeze, stamped with En Francais in Baja Breeze ink. I attached the whisper white layer to the base with stampin dimensionals and then added three pearls from Pearl Basic Jewels.

Father’s Day Motorcycle Cards

I FINALLY made a “manly” card! This is really hard for me because by definition, cards are not very manly. Men just don’t care about receiving cards; they probably throw them out 5 minutes after reading them. Not that my husband does that. Nevermind that he can’t because I take them back 5 minutes after he reads them and I save them!

With Father’s Day coming up, masculine cards are the project of the day. This motorcycle stamp, aptly called Motorcycle, from the Stampin Up Summer Mini catalog is perfect for Father’s Day. Most dads love motorcycles, whether they have one or wish they had one.

The card above uses Crumb Cake base, layered with new Cherry Cobbler. The Gray DSP is from Urban Oasis (one of the best collections EVER in my opinion). I stamped the motorcycle in Memento Black ink and colored it in with Copic Markers. The sentiment is from Well Scripted, stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink on Whisper White. I punched it out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch and layered it onto a Metal Edge Tag. Then, I added 3 small Silver Brads and using Stampin Dimensionals, layered the tag onto a 1 3/4″ Circle Punch of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock.

This version uses a different color scheme and different sentiment stamp. The base here is Marina Mist, layered with Crumb Cake and the Urban Oasis DSP. Again, I stamped the image in Memento Black and colored in with Copic Markers. The image was layered onto Marina Mist and attached to the base with Stampin Dimensionals. For the sentiment, I used And Many Mower, stamped in Basic Gray ink on Whisper White. I punched it out with the Large Oval Punch and layered it onto a Scallop Oval punched from Marina Mist.

Square Scallop Lattice Card

Another card I made using the new colors–this time with Marina Mist. The base is Crumb Cake that I die cut with the Big Shot and Bigz Square Scallop Die. Then, I took a 3.5″ x 7″ piece of Whisper White card stock, folded in half, and adhered it to the square scallop. This is the “card” part that opens up.

With the Bigz Lattice Die, I cut Early Espresso card stock, adhered it to a 3″ square of Marina Mist with Mini Glue Dots and layered both onto a 3 1/4″ square of Early Espresso. That was then attached to the Whisper White.

In the center of the lattice, I added 4 pieces of Crumb Cake “scrap” or the negative pieces from running the Lattice Die through the Big Shot with Crumb Cake card stock. Those were adhered with SNAIL adhesive.
