Luau Party {Tropical Invitation}

My daughter’s 4th birthday is coming up, and we’re having a luau themed party. I used the Fresh Cut Notes to make the tropical flower by layering it with Island Oasis DSP and cutting it out. Then, I added a Chocolate Chip 1/4″ Epoxy Brad to the center.

The card base is Early Espresso, with a strip of Apricot Appeal that was embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and Melon Mambo Grosgrain Ribbon (polka dots on the back). The grass skirt is made from Kiwi Kiss textured card stock, cut with paper snips.

To finish it off, I stamped the “you’re invited” in Versamark and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder.

Square Scallop Lattice Card

Another card I made using the new colors–this time with Marina Mist. The base is Crumb Cake that I die cut with the Big Shot and Bigz Square Scallop Die. Then, I took a 3.5″ x 7″ piece of Whisper White card stock, folded in half, and adhered it to the square scallop. This is the “card” part that opens up.

With the Bigz Lattice Die, I cut Early Espresso card stock, adhered it to a 3″ square of Marina Mist with Mini Glue Dots and layered both onto a 3 1/4″ square of Early Espresso. That was then attached to the Whisper White.

In the center of the lattice, I added 4 pieces of Crumb Cake “scrap” or the negative pieces from running the Lattice Die through the Big Shot with Crumb Cake card stock. Those were adhered with SNAIL adhesive.

Sweet Celebration Circles

This is a simple card but I love all the circles and colors! The thing that took the longest was coloring in the sentiment with different color markers for each letter. Other than that, this card came together in minutes.

The base is Early Espresso. It’s funny to compare it to Chocolate Chip, because CC always seemed so dark–until we got this new darker brown. Now CC looks more reddish brown to me!

I punched the circles out of Island Oasis DSP, Tempting Turquoise, Rose Red, Old Olive, and Tangerine Tango with various sizes of Circle Punches.

The sentiment is from Sweet Scoops, a really cute ice cream set from the Summer Mini. I colored in most of the sentiment with Chocolate Chip Marker, then each letter in “sweet” with a different color. I stamped it on Whisper White, layered on a strip of Daffodil Delight. Then, I adhered it to the base with Stampin Dimensionals.

Around the edges of the card front, I used my White Gel Pen to make dots and lines. Against the dark brown background, the white really pops and frames the card nicely.

This card just makes me smile 🙂
