Bold and Bright Bazaar

As soon as I saw the International Bazaar Designer Series Paper I knew I had to have it. It’s bright and the patterns and shapes are really cool. I thought it would go well with the Moroccan type stamp from Summer Silhouettes.

I used Crumb Cake for the base, layered with In Color Midnight Muse. I stamped the Moroccan print stamp from Summer Silhouettes in Midnight Muse ink up the bottom half of the card stock. A little strip of International Bazaar DSP in this bright feather pattern goes a long way.

The sentiment is from Well Scripted, stamped on Whisper White card stock. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits to cut out the sentiment, as well as a piece of Summer Starfruit card stock. Then I traced around the inside of the die with a pencil and cut out the White card stock to mat it with the Starfruit. To finish off, I pierced around the edge with the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack.

Here is another card I made using the International Bazaar DSP. With Midnight Muse as the base, the DSP is the star of the show. In keeping with the rainbow theme, I inked up the sentiment from Word Play in rainbow colors by coloring direct to stamp with Stampin UP Markers. I stamped it onto Whisper White card stock and cut it out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits Die.

Before adhering the DSP to the base, I cut out a window in the lower corner using the Apothecary Accents Framelits Die. Then, I slipped in the piece I stamped with the sentiment so the front of the card is flush.

Summer Silhouettes 2 Ways

I made 2 versions of this card, one basic and another slightly stepped up. Using a combination of bright In Colors, grounded with Basic Gray and White as neutrals, the card feels cheery but not busy.

First up is the basic version. I used the Summer Silhouettes stamp set for the flowers and Friendly Phrases for the sentiment. The colors for the flowers are Summer Starfruit, Lucky Limeade, and Primrose Petals.

The strip across the front is Summer Starfruit card stock, layered with Pool Party card stock that I ran through the Big Shot with the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder for texture.

For the stepped up version, I used one of the Apothecary Accents Framelits to cut out the sentiment on Whisper White card stock. Then, I added an In Color Dahlia in Primrose Petals and adhered the label to the card with stampin dimensionals.

Cupcake for the Hostess

There is a Hostess set in the upcoming catalog that I was able to preorder called A Cherry on Top. I was drawn to it immediately but when I actually tried to use it, I couldn’t come up with much! I have ideas for it, so I’ll keep working with it until my vision matches what’s on the paper in front of me.

For this card, I used Old Olive as the base and one of my favorite papers Summer Smooches DSP. The color scheme for this card is bright and cheery: Old Olive, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Whisper White.

I stamped the cupcake in Melon Mambo ink on Whisper White, and cut it out. Then, I stamped the cupcake wrapper on Crumb Cake with Crumb Cake ink and cut it out. For the dome lid, I inked up the stamp with Pool Party ink, then stamped off once on scrap paper. Without cleaning the stamp or reinking it, I stamped it on Whisper White card stock for a lighter effect. Then, I traced over it with a glue pen and added Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. After trimming it out, I adhered the cupcake pieces to the lid piece.

For the background, I ran Whisper White through the Big Shot with the Stripes Textured Embossing Folder. Then, I layered it on Melon Mambo card stock and attached my cupcake display with stampin dimensionals.

The cake base is stamped in Daffodil Delight, cut out and I wrapped some 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon in Daffodil Delight around it for some detail.

For the sentiment, I used my Markers to ink up a stamp from Happiest Birthday Wishes. I matted it on Daffodil Delight card stock and layered it onto a strip of Old Olive 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon.
