Baby Scrapbook Just For You

I found this retired Simply Scrappin Kit called Just For You at my upline’s retired item sale. This kit was so cool–it even came with beautiful, wide, So Saffron ribbon!

Page 1 of the baby scrapbook I made. It turned out so much better than I thought it would. I’m a little rusty with scrapbooking–it’s been almost a year! Working with the kits is sometimes hard for me, because it’s a little stifling when you’re constrained to the contents of the kit. Normally, I use the paper and some of the self adhesive stickers (because they’re repositionable I love them!) but add my own twist on accessories. Once I got going with this kit, it came along pretty quickly!

Page 1 also incorporates So Tweet Chipboard and the Good Friend stamp set. I used the Top Note Die to create the “stats” area and an Ice Circle Rhinestone Brad gives the bird some bling.

On page 2 of the scrapbook, I used Thickers Alphabet Stickers in White to title. The squares along the top and bottom were made using a 7/8″ square punch.

Page 3 was made for the new baby’s Big Sister Emily. I used the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch and Thickers Alphabet Stickers in Brown for the title. In the center of the page, there’s a spot for journaling, which I made using the Kit’s self adhesive die cut rectangles and Certainly Celery ribbon.

I’ll post the rest of the pages, along with scrap maps, soon–check back in the next few days! WAIT TIL YOU SEE THE LAST PAGE!!!

Pumpkin Farm Scrapbook Page

Our yearly trip to the farm for pumpkin picking is fast becoming a family tradition for us, as is my scrapbook page memorializing the outing. I was so happy with last year’s page I was worried I would have to keep outdoing myself year after year. Part of the fun in making the scrapbook pages comes from the memories of the day. Ella loves being outside and picking up leaves, rocks, and pumpkins “ugh too heavy” she says. Fall is my favorite season; I love the colors, the leaves, and the crisp weather. I love making comfort foods associated with the cooler weather, and I especially love Thanksgiving. It’s my favorite holiday because of all the yummy foods and desserts that go along with it!

When I started out making these pages, I thought to use the Autumn Vines DSP because (a) I’m addicted to it and (b) it’s perfect for the season. But for some reason, it was NOT working. So I decided to go to Plan B–Hawaii Papaya. I LOVE this DSP: the colors, patterns, everything about it. And whadda you know, it worked for me! This is Layout 10 and 10a (See Scrapbook Layouts)

Supplies: Cardstock: SU Hawaii Papaya DSP, Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango, chocolate chip, whisper white; Ink: Versamark, chocolate chip, kiwi kiss, tangerine tango; Stamps: Fall Flair (Hostess Level 2 Set); Accessories: SU Jumbo pewter eyelets, rope twine, dimensionals, coluzzle, sponge, Bazzil chips chipboard, SU square rhinestone brads, non SU 3D letters.

It’s a Birthday Party!

I finally got around to scrapbooking my daughter’s 2nd birthday (August 31st). Yay! I’m not so behind anymore. Nevermind I still have to do last Christmas, that’s not the point! When I got the Sweet Always DSP in my last order I loved the polka dot papers! I am obsessed with polka dots and circles. Originally my daughter had a polka dot dress to wear for her birthday but I ended up having to return it because it was too big on her.

Anyway, these pages are based on Layout 9 and 9a (See Scrapbook Layouts). I’m very happy with the way they turned out. I tried my best to photograph it, but it’s almost dinner time and pouring rain here, so the lighting/flash/etc just was not cooperating with me.

The sweet always polka dot dsp was cut to 11″x11″ and the regal rose is just a full 8 1/2″ x 11″ sheet of cardstock.
