Another Mother’s Day Card

I’ve been on a watercoloring kick lately. This time, I used the SU markers. There are great tutorials on how to watercolor with markers. This one is my favorite. Basically, the idea is to use Watercolor Paper, color in the image  with SU markers, then go over it with the watercolor pen until you get the desired effect. It’s more a matter of removing ink than applying it.

This card is so fun and cheery in real life, I hope it comes across here. The base is Apricot Appeal, layered with a piece of Certainly Celery DSP. The image layer is SU Watercolor paper. I used Blooming with Love stamped in Black Staz On ink.

I colored the wheelbarrow with Close to Cocoa marker, shading the back of the wheelbarrow slightly and picking up some of the color to highlight the front area. The flower pots are watercolored with Certainly Celery marker, cut out, and popped up with dimensionals.

In the upper left corner, the sentiment was stamped onto a 1 1/4″ Whisper White circle punch, layered with a 1 3/8″ Pink Pirouette circle and a Regal Rose Scalloped Circle, all popped up on dimensionals.
