I’ve been up to my eyeballs in learning My Digital Studio (MDS) lately, but I decided it was time to make stuff the old fashioned way today and get back to stamping. It is definitely my preferred way to make cards, but I did have fun using MDS to make a scrapbook album. It’s MUCH easier to just drag in photos right on the computer instead of printing them, cutting them, gluing them, etc. I’m working on a book/album of my daughter’ birthday party and plan on having it professionally printed using SU’s printing services very soon. I’ll post pics in a few days.
As for this card, I used a new stamp from the Mini Catalog, Berry Christmas and also Christmas Greetings, from the main catalog. Gorgeous striped shimmery paper is Christmas Cocoa DSP, also from the Mini catalog.
The card base is Soft Suede, layered with the striped Chritmas Cocoa DSP, which like I said has a slight shimmer to it. The image is from Berry Christmas, stamped in Riding Hood Red ink on Whisper White. The wreath is hanging by a Soft Suede stamped bow. Finally, I added some Red Glitter using my MS fine tip glue pen to some of the berries and matted it onto a piece of Real Red cardstock.

Here is another version using the Berry Christmas set. I stamped the wreath in Old Olive and then added the holly berries, stamped in Riding Hood Red. The sentiment comes from the stamp set, stamped in Riding Hood Red. I also used the Ticket Corner Punch on this one to give the edges more interest.

I had something different in mind when I started this card, but the end result is still pretty cool. I wanted it to look like a bakery storefront window.
Card base is Close to Cocoa, with Striped Kraft strips around the window. Across the top, I added a strip of Melon Mambo that I scalloped with the Scalloped Edge Punch to look like a window canopy. The window itself is made from the polka dotted Window Sheet, cut down to size. On either side, I tied Melon Mambo Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon.
The cupcake image is from Crazy for Cupcakes, colored in with my SU Markers. The sentiment is a rub on from Chit Chat Rub Ons.

It’s my little cupcake’s 3rd birthday soon, and this is the card I made for her. Card base is Perfect Plum with a layer of Barely Banana. I sponged the edges with Barely Banana ink and paper pierced all the way around the edes as well.
In the center, I used the ribbon weaving technique to add a pop of color. Ribbon is Perfect Plum 1/4″ Grograin and Orchid Opulence 1/4″ Grosgrain.
Directions
- Measure piece of card stock by ribbon widths and cut to size. This is the base that you’ll weave the ribbon around.
- Cut ribbon lengths so that they’re a little bit longer than your base.
- Adhere one end of each ribbon to the back of the base according to the direction it will lay, vertical or horizontal.
- Begin weaving, using SNAIL to hold ribbon in place as you weave.
- Finish by securing the other end of the ribbon to the back side of your base using Sticky Strip.
- Try it with strips of DSP as well!
The cupcake felt sticker is from Martha Stewart and sentiment is from Crazy for Cupcakes.
