More Colors, More Leaves

It must be pretty obvious by now that I LOVE this tree from Season of Friendship. Instead of using the leaves that come with the set, I decided to try this large leaf image from Autumn Harvest and it worked pretty well.

The card base is Chocolate chip textured card stock, layered with DSP from Autumn Vines DSP. The image layer is Whisper White, with a chipboard frame underneath. I covered the chipboard with Pumpkin Pie craft ink and then heat embossed it using clear embossing powder.

I stamped the images in Basic Brown ink and watercolored the leaves with my Aquapainter and the following ink pads: Riding Hood Red, Pumpkin Pie, Creamy Caramel, and Kiwi Kiss.

With the cropadile, I punched a large hole in the chipboard and put in an eyelet from Hooray kit. Then I looped a piece of 5/8″ Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon through and tied it with Hemp Twine.

Baja Kiwi Tango Tree

This card uses all retired In Colors from last year (and some of my all time favorites as well). The base is Baja breeze, layered with the Holiday Bulk Buy DSP (Tangerine Tango). It’s a strange thing to be using Christmas paper on a Fall card, but this worked!

The main image is a piece of Glossy Card Stock on which I used the Baby Wipe Technique. I put a few drops of Baja Breeze reinker on a folded up baby wipe, then swiped it across the glossy card stock until everything was covered.

Next, I stamped the tree from Season of Friendship in Brown Stazon ink. The stamp moved a little when I picked it up so it made the trunk look a little rough but I like it–more natural! The leaves were stamped in Kiwi Kiss and Tangerine Tango ink on Whisper White card stock, punched out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch. I attached the circles with glue dots.  As for the bird, also from Season of Friendship, I stamped it in Pumpkin Pie ink on Whisper White card stock and trimmed it out. I made a “nest” from a large glue dot and pieces of Hemp Twine. The bird sits on a tiny dimensional above the nest.

Across the bottom of the card, I added some 5/8″ Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon and attached the image layer, on a piece of chocolate chip textured card stock, to the base with dimensionals.

Season of Glitter–Birthday Card

This is another card I made using my beloved Striped Kraft card stock. Instead of a winter scene, this one features a beautiful tree for fall. I’m going to a birthday party in a couple weeks for my dad’s friend, and although this breaks 2 major rule of Male Cards, I think I’m going to give it to him anyway. Rule #1 is NO Glitter for a man card and Rule #2 is NO Bows–Just ask my husband.

The card base is Baja Breeze, layered with chocolate chip textured card stock, which I scalloped the edges using the Scallop Edge Punch. The image layer is Striped Kraft, with the tree from Season of Friendship stamped in chocolate chip ink. The leaves are stamped in Palette Glue Pad and then sprinkled with Supernova Fine Cosmo Glitter in Orange and Green.

I tied some 5/8″ Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon in a knot around the Kraft layer and attached the whole thing with dimensionals. The sentiment is from Chit Chat Rub Ons.
