Build A Bear Easter Card

February 26th, 2010 - No Responses

This is an Easter card using the Build A Bear stamp Beary Best Friends. I chose to make this one for a little boy, but there is also a cute girl bear image in the set. The accessory set is called Beary Best Times and includes images such as this Easter basket, a skateboard, an umbrella, ice cream cone, and others.

The card base is Gina K Luxury White base weight, layered with blue polka dot paper from Welcome Neighbor DSP (part of the Sale-A-Bration catalog).

I stamped the bear and basket in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them in with Copic Markers. I mounted that onto Old Olive card stock and then using the Cropadile, added two orange Circle Rhinestone Brads in the upper right corner. That was attached using Stampin Dimensionals.

For the sentiment, I stamped “Happy Easter” from Well Scripted in Pumpkin Pie ink on Whisper White. I punched it out using the Large Oval Punch and layered it onto an Old Olive Scalloped Oval Punch out. That was also attached using Stampin Dimensionals.

It’s A Stretch Continued

The above card was really simple to make. The base is Bashful Blue card stock, cut to 4 1/4″ x 11″ and folded at the top. I used Shades of Spring DSP as the background in a purple and white floral pattern. The stamp is from It’s A Stretch, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Gina K luxury white, colored in with Copic Markers. I matted the image layer onto a strip of Bashful Blue and then added a small yellow Circle Rhinestone Brad in the center of the flower with the Cropadile.

Next, I punched along the two long sides of a strip of white card stock with the Scallop Trim Border Punch. I mounted the image layer and mat to the white strip with Stampin Dimensionals. That was then adhered to the base with SNAIL adhesive.

Lastly, I made this card using It’s A Stretch. The base is Gina K Luxury Base Weight, layered with Shades of Spring DSP. I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black again, and colored it in with Copic Markers. That was layered onto a strip of Rose Red card stock and then I tied some Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon around the front. I snipped the edges with my Craft & Paper Scissors into little V’s.  Simply adhere the image layer to the base using Stampin Dimensionals and you’re done!

Inside, I stamped a sentiment from On Your Birthday in Rose Red ink.

{It’s a Stretch} Collection of Cards

For the past few posts, I’ve tended to make multiple cards with the same stamp, changing up the colors or composition. I suppose if I’m going to pull out a stamp set, paper, inks, etc., I’d rather make a few different versions, and build up my card supply at the same time. Also, sometimes while I’m working on a card, a different idea will pop into my head and I want to try it before I forget. Tonight, I made 3 cards using the It’s A Stretch stamp set. The first is shown below:

For this card, I used Rose Red card stock as the base, layered with Welcome Neighbor DSP from the Sale-A-Bration catalog, which means it was free! I stamped this cute little potted tree from It’s A Stretch in Mememto Tuxedo Black ink and colored in the image with Copic Markers. That was matted with Soft Suede card stock and I tied some Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon around the front.

Like a tag you’d find on a potted plant or tree, I added this tiny stamped “friend” tag using Tiny Tags and the Jewelry Tag Punch. I attached the tag to the tree using the Cropadile, added a tiny silver brad, and adhered the image layer to the base using Stampin Dimensionals.

I’ll post the rest of the cards tomorrow, so stay tuned!
