More Cards…Xmas Trials

Not that I’m rushing for winter to be here. Normally I don’t even think about Christmas til Thanksgiving, but I had some requests for christmas cards from a co-worker and so my mind has been forced to think about the holidays early.

I saw a great, simple christmas card here. This is my version:

Pink Noel Card: Stamps: Big on Christmas; Cardstock: Mellow Moss, Pink Pirouette, Metallic White (non-SU); Ink: Black Staz-on, Markers Pretty in Pink and Mellow Moss; Accessories: Silver Cord

This style got me thinking of something else and since I bought these “raindrops” at ACMoore the other day, I had a lightbulb moment to make the ornament pop.

Blue Noel Card: Stamps: Big on Christmas; Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Pacific Point, Glossy White, Metallic White (non-SU); Ink: Black Staz-On, Tempting Turquoise Marker, Brilliant Blue Marker; Accessories: Swiss Dot Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Clear Rain Dot, Scallop Edge Punch (SU).

And finally, another version:

Noel 3D Card: This one uses Pink Pirouette and Certainly Celery DSP as the colors, with Chocolate Chip to accent. I embossed the image here, colored the letters in pink and then used stickles to make them glittery. Finally, I popped the ornament up on dimensionals and used the gold cord to “hang” it.

On a slightly different note, this one was made using up some of my scraps, plus I’ve been wanting to try silver Embossing powder. The result:

Stamps: Heard from the Heart, Snowflake is from “Merry” retired SU set; Ink: Versamark; Cardstock: PP, Black, White; Accessories: Silver EP, Circle punches, Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder.

Stampin Up!

I joined SU as a demonstrator last August for the discount. I’m considered a “hobby demo” because I don’t focus on sales or getting customers. Sometimes I feel if you do it as a business to profit, it takes all the fun out of it. For me anyway. I like to make what I like, and use products that appeal to me, regardless of whether or not they’re good to “demo” to customers.

Anyway, enough rambling and onto sharing. With the debut of the Big Shot and exclusive dies, I’ve been very busy. I’m in an upswing as far as stamping mojo is concerned and I’ve found lots of inspiration out there on blogs and through splitcoaststampers.com (if you haven’t already, you should definitely check out that site). For a downline meeting recently, my upline asked me to come up with some samples and a make & take using the Big Shot. This is what I’ve been up to:
