Swell News

I borrowed this set from my upline to make some baby cards for my cousin in-law (who just found out she is pregnant) and my sister (who has known she’s been pregnant for about 7 months now!) I love it and I’m now on a quest to find one–whether it be ebay or if someone wants to sell/trade. Anyone??

I made these cards using scraps I already had lying around. It’s part of my effort to use up some of the old stuff before I bring in the new. Taking inventory of my craft closet was quite an experience! Not only did I get a chance to get organized, but I know how much stuff I never got around to using!

Baby Shower Invites

I am making invitations for my sister’s baby shower (it’s a boy) and the theme came from her bedding choice–Jungle Animals!! Of course, I have the perfect set–Wild About You. I saw many great examples on splitcoast using this set, and I’m pleased with the way they turned out. Granted it’s a lot of work cutting out the elephant ear and gluing all those dots on the giraffe, but it’s for my sister!

I used a regular hole punch and a smaller one to get the colored spots for the giraffe. The smallest spots I just colored in with So Saffron marker. The elephant’s ear is stamped in Tempting Turquoise and popped up with a dimensional.

Supplies: CardstocK: Baja Breeze, So Saffron, Kiwi Kiss, Tempting Turquoise, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla; Ink: Close to Cocoa, Baja Breeze, Tempting Turquoise, So Saffron; Stamps: Wild About You, Hugs & Wishes (sentiment); Accessories: Mat Pack & Paper Piercer, dimensionals, hole punches

Hello Again!

For those of you who read my blog, I apologize I’ve been MIA for a month. A month! It was just a case of life. Work, holidays, things like that. I have not stamped in a while. In fact I decided I was not going to send out christmas cards this year because I didn’t have time to make them (heaven forbid I buy a pack of greeting cards–people will think I’ve gone cuckoo). Today, being snowed in, I decided (read guilt-tripped) to make Christmas cards.

I had my eye on these from www.tinyprints.com and thought I could make them instead. I love tinyprints and have ordered before. I highly recommend them!

Supplies: Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Shimmery White; Ink: Chocolate Chip, RHR, Stazon White; Stamps: Season of Friendship, Best Yet (hostess set).

This is a 4.25″ x 5.5″ postcard (on the back I printed out a label that says the greeting with our names). The snow is piece of torn shimmery white cardstock stamped with the Best Yet sentiment in RHR. I matted the picture on a piece of white and RHR cardstock. The background is Baja Breeze with the tree from Season of Friendship stamped on the far left side. Then I stamped the snowflakes in stazon white b/c I was NOT bothering with craft ink or emossing. The little bird I stamped in RHR on white cardstock and cut him out, sticking him on the tree with a glue dot. Yes I cut out 28 tiny birds!

Surprisingly, I don’t have enough christmas cards for all my family & friends but I’m out of envelopes and out of patience (LOL) so I’m using random xmas cards I made a few months ago. They may not be as cute but they’ll do!
