Flowers for you

I usually shy away from Black, Red, and White, but for some reason I was in the mood for exactly that combination when I opened my new pack of Taste of Textiles paper. The black linen cardstock is really nice. It’s a good mix between paper and cloth, having the weight of cardstock with the slight sheen and texture of fabric.  Not wanting to waste it (you only get 2 sheets of each in the pack) I mounted a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ piece onto a white cardstock base. The image was stamped on Whisper White cardstock using Botanical Blooms, a free Saleabration set. I stamped the outlines in Basic Black and the colors used were Real Red, Kiwi Kiss, and Apricot Appeal.

The sentiment “for you” was stamped in Real Red in the center of a Basic Gray stamp from Great Friend. I cut out the shape and mounted it on the card with dimensionals.

Before adhering the Black Linen layer to the card base, I tied a piece of 5/8″ Real Red grosgrain ribbon around the front and used 3 pearls from the Pretties kit to finish off the card.
