Black and White and Kiwi

This card has a lots of great texture. First, the base is Shimmery White card stock, which lends a nice glittery feel. It’s also heavy enough to use as a card base. Sometimes the Whisper White can be a little on the thin side; it’s great for stamping on and layering, however.

The black panel is Black Linen card stock from Taste of Textiles. The linen card stock is really luxurious–silky and substantial at the same time. Across the linen panel, I tied some Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla satin ribbon. It’s gorgeous and ties beautifully.

The white flower is from the Bulk Pretties Kit, which I adhered to the base with glue dots. In the center of the flower, I used a Kiwi Kiss Corduroy button (adhered with glue dots) for another pop of color. The pearls are also from the Bulk Pretties Kit.

Finally, the sentiment is a rub on from Fashion District. I had no problem using the rub on on the textured paper. I never used rub ons before SU started carrying them, but now I’m hooked!

The Easter Bunny is Coming!

I made these Bunny Tags for my nieces’ and nephews’ Easter gifts. I forgot to take a picture of the back, but I created a little pocket by gluing half of a Top Note to the bottom, making sure to glue around the bottom and two sides only. That way, the top is open, which can hold money, a gift card, etc. In their case, it will be money (shhh don’t tell them!)

As for the bunny, I stamped the polka dot petal from Pick A Petal in Cameo Coral for the ears. Then, I used Basic Gray ink for the outlines. Next, I punched out the face from Whisper White card stock using the Scallop Circle Punch. The bunny’s nose is also from Pick a Petal, stamped in Cameo Coral. I drew on the mouth and whiskers, and glued on googly eyes to finish off the face.

In the lower right corner, I stamped the “for you” sentiment from Great Friend in Basic Gray ink. When I give these out, I’m going to tuck some money in the back pocket and attach them to a chocolate Easter egg with ribbon. I may put a jumbo eyelet in the top and slip the ribbon through there.

Here they all are:

I wonder if this is a sign?

I made this card a couple night ago, and today my husband brought up the idea of getting a dog. A Puggle to be exact, and it kind of looks like this dog here. I’m not sure on the dog idea just yet, (I know he’s probably reading this–Honey, we have a lot more to talk about) but the dog card is cute!

I used a previous Mini set called For Father and stamped it on watercolor paper using Black Stazon. Coloring was done with Markers and the aquapainter. The card base is the Striped Kraft card stock from Taste of Textiles. The image is layered on Chocolate Chip and Close to Cocoa. On the Close to Cocoa layer, I added two White 5/16″ Basic Brads. Behind the image layer is a strip of Chocolate Chip Textured card stock.

Inside, I lined the card with a piece of Very Vanilla and stamped a sentiment from the same set.
